MOVING ON

It was quiet, which we like sometimes.  That way we get a good nap.  Then Grams came down and announced it was lunch.  We like lunch, in fact we like to eat anytime, but especially lunch.  Funny we only see four bowls coming out.  Oh well we will just share.  As we finish, we notice that Winston is missing.  Silly goose is probably scrounging for more from Grams.  Charlie goes off looking for him.  We hear him call but there is no Winston.  Ok, he will show up.  Wow, we are tired from our big lunch.

A couple of hours later we wake up and notice Winston still is not around.  Charlie says I will get to the bottom of this.  Off he goes to see Gramps but can't find him.  Then we hear Grams talking to Charlie.  Right after she finishes Charlie comes tearing towards us.  He is beside himself.

Charlie says, "Winston is gone!"

"Gone!", we say in unison - "What do you mean gone!  He was here this morning cause we were playing and having fun." says Belinda.

"Grams says that Gramps took him to go to his new home."

"Home - what are you talking about Charlie?!"

"That is all she would say except he won't be coming back!"

It was like a bomb was dropped.  We couldn't believe what we were hearing.  Wow, if the humans could do that to Winston there is no hope for any of us.  What can we do - run away in protest, go to the union, talk to the big guys and get them to plead to the humans to change their minds, maybe Winston will run away and come home, we had to have a plan.  It was then that Mom can in.  She sensed we were all in distress and guessed right away what might be the cause.  So, she sat us down and explained that soon all of us will be leaving to go off into the big world 'out there'.  We all looked at each other in horror and gulped.  Mom spent a long time with us and when she was finished, we all gathered around her nuzzling and feeling sorry for ourselves.  It was then that we felt more sorrier for Mom and Dad.  As the rest of the day wore on most of the big guys came, telling us what a great adventure we will be going on and that all our new homes were ok'd by Gramps and Grams.  Besides we could all text each other from time to time - take pictures of ourselves and share.

By the next morning we all felt better.  Gramps showed us a picture of Winston in his new home.  He looked really happy.  There was a twinkle in his that we knew was for us (it was our private code) that said it was wonderful.  So now we wait for our turn with great anticipation...

This will be the last of the series of the Gold Crew for now.  We shall endeavour to have an update when the pups are between 5-6 months of age.  Thank you for visiting with our family.  We hope that you enjoyed the experience...
